How to Reuse Empty Essential Oil Bottles

Once you fall in love with essential oils, you start to go through bottles and bottles of them. You add them to your water, to diffusers, in lotions, in your skin care, in soft gels, etc. You get the idea! But, what the heck do you do with the empty bottles? Do we just throw them away?

I made this quick guide in case you just need a whole bunch of ideas, but let’s get into some of these, shall we?

I actually love how empty essential oil bottles look on display like this. GOALS!

People are so creative when it comes to reusing empty bottles. Let me share with you some of the ways I have reused them and gotten the most out of them!

Toss empty bottles in a jar with epsom salt

Yep! Just toss them right in. The epsom salt will pick up the aroma of the empty bottles and can be used for baths, soaks, and even cleaning!

Use Empty bottles as mini vases

How sweet are these? Spring is the perfect time to show off even the tiniest of your garden blooms. Put a collection together for a Mother’s Day brunch, Sunday dinner with the family, in a windowsill, or by your kitchen sink. It’s sure to bring some smiles!

Don’t miss out on a drop!

Don't miss out on a drop of your precious oils. Try putting your empty essential oil bottles in a water pitcher (jar, bowl, vase, glass, whatever!) and then adding the infused water to your diffuser.

cotton ball air freshener

This one is wild, but I swear it works. Stuff a cotton ball into the bottle. You may need a ballpoint pen to make it happen. lol Then Put the lid back on the bottle. In a few days, use tweezers to pull out the cotton ball. You’ve got yourself a great little air freshener for gym bags, cleats, cars, and pretty much anywhere that is smelly.

Carpet and MAttress Refresher

Just fill up that empty essential oil bottle with baking soda, let it sit for a few hours, and then sprinkle on mattresses or carpets and vacuum it up!
